Welcome to the Skilling Laboratory!

The Skilling Laboratory  serves Aeronautics and Astronautics classes, providing space, shared tools & equipment, and a home with a welcoming culture, to support the development of practical engineering skillling for undergraduate and graduate Aeronautics and Astronautics students.

Skilling Laboratory

The Skilling Laboratory supports our Aeronautics & Astronautics community and teaching programs, supplying space & opportunity to embed practical learning into courses. We provide:  

  • Flexible teaching space for project-based AA undergraduate & graduate courses 
  • Hand tools, additive manufacturing, and prototyping equipment & supplies
  • Opportunity and belonging for AA community to ideate, create & make, to develop technical, creative, and practical engineering skills

Recent news

During a recent quarter, 20 teams of students assembled atop the steps of the Skilling Laboratory to flight-test balsa woods gliders that they designed and built from scratch in AA100 with Professor Ken Hara.
